Appointments, referrals and crisis support
DeKalb CSB provides a single point of entry to access our services. Master’s level clinicians determine the caller’s immediate needs and offer support, evaluation and referral when appropriate. If you call and are connected to voicemail, please leave a message and your call will be returned.
For those who are hearing impaired, please call 404.377.9224. We also provide interpreter services at no additional cost for non-English speaking individuals.
Developmental Disabilities Services
To determine eligibility for DeKalb CSB’s developmental disability services, contact the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities Region 3 Office for intake and evaluation at 770.414.3052 and online at www.dbhdd.georgia.gov. For those in Region 3 who currently have a Medicaid Waiver for NOW or COMP services and would like the DeKalb CSB to be your provider, please visit our Developmental Disability Services page.
Behavioral Health Services
DeKalb CSB offers substance abuse services for adults and offers mental health services to children, adolescents and adults. To access these services, our Central Access line at 404.892.4646 for assessments, scheduling appointments or referrals. To access our criminal justice program services, call 404-508-6445. We offer a variety of services for individuals arrested and/or convicted of an alcohol or drug offenses, domestic violence, and other offenses that may warrant a mental health or substance abuse evaluation.
Located at our Winn Way Mental Health Center, our Central Intake Unit is the first contact for all adults and children seeking outpatient mental health and substance abuse services within our agency. The clinical file is activated by the patient accounts technician and includes information such as financial assessment, obtaining lawful presence documentation and education about client rights and responsibilities.
A licensed clinician will provide a clinical assessment to determine if you are eligible for services, determine the most appropriate service, schedule first therapist appointment, or provide referral information should it be determined that you do not meet eligibility requirements for our services. Initial psychiatric and nursing appointments are scheduled based on urgency of need and availability.
