Duties & Responsibilities: Under general supervision, provides both individual and group counseling/therapy to patients/clients/consumers requiring complex intervention, including those who are homicidal, suicidal or exhibit life-threatening behaviors; determines necessity for involuntary commitment; may partake in executing orders of involuntary commitment in an outpatient setting. Completes assessments to develop individualized treatment plans with consumers to enhance, meet or restore a patient's/client's/consumer's functioning capacity. Incumbent will work with adult mental health and substance abuse consumers. Develops or participates in case management/care plans. May supervise para-professional level staff.
Minimum Training & Experience: Master’s Degree in Social Work or Professional Counseling with two years work experience in social service delivery (case management, outreach, prevention/ education, client assessment, counseling). Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker by the Georgia Composite Board of Professional Counselors, Social Workers, and Marriage and Family Therapists is required. Incumbent must be computer efficient and have the ability to multi-task. Incumbent must have experience working in adult mental health and experience conducting groups.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience completing MICP’s in an outpatient setting.
