The Emotional & Behavioral Support Services Program (EBSS) is a school based mental health program that seeks to enhance the learning environments of schools by removing barriers to learning and actively promoting  the emotional well-being of students through effective health promotion and intervention in the schools.

EBSS offers a comprehensive program for both children and adolescents suffering from both mental health issues and substance abuse. Youth between the ages of three and 18 are eligible for these services if assessed and determined to have a diagnosis which indicates emotional disturbance, mood disorder, behavioral disorder or some
combination of these categories.

The EBSS Program is a collaborative  effort between DeKalb Schools and DeKalb Community Service Board.  The program is currently being offered in Freedom Middle School and Stoneview Elementary School.
