National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week is May 3-9, 2015. This entire week is dedicated to teaching people about children’s mental health, advocating to improve services and celebrating all the work that has been done in the past. This year also marks the 10th Anniversary of National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day, observed on Thursday, May 7, 2015.

In honor of this Children’s Mental Health, we are encouraging our partners and friends to wear green ribbons to help raise public awareness and to show their support to children, youth and families.  DeKalb CSB believes that these issues are important to address year round, but highlighting these issues during May provides a time for people to come together and display the passion and strength of those working to improve the lives of the tens of millions of Americans affected by mental illness.
