PSR Creative Expression Flyer

Mental health is essential to our overall health and well-being. In celebration of Mental Health Month, DeKalb Community Service Board invites you to attend a Creative Expression Showcase to raise awareness for mental health and learn how art can play a role in recovery. Clients from the agency’s North DeKalb and Kirkwood Psychosocial Rehabilitation programs will display items such as their art, jewelry, woodwork and shadowboxes. The display will be open to the public on Thursday, May 15 from 11 am to 1 pm in the Bohan Auditorium of the Richardson Health Center, 445 Winn Way, Decatur, GA 30030. Special thanks to the Fulton-DeKalb Hospital Authority for funding art supplies for this project.

Marianette Refour, PSR Program Manager, explained, “Mental Health Month is an opportunity for all to take a moment and reflect on good care for the mind and body.  In the PSR Program we offer individuals with mental illness an alternative means of gaining insight into mental health and overall care. Creative Expression is a therapy approach that we use to assist such individuals on the road to well-being and their own recovery. “
