ATLANTA- July 14, 2015 – DeKalb Community Service Board (CSB) is pleased to announce the presenting sponsor for the 9th Annual Walk of HEROes, an annual 5k honoring those battling developmental disabilities and behavioral health illnesses. The DeKalb CSB is proud to honor Debra DeBerry, Dekalb County Clerk of Courts, for her status of “Superhero Presenting Sponsor” through a donation of $5,000!

 

The “Superhero” is one of many remarkable sponsors who help the Brighter DeKalb Foundation, a nonprofit created to support the necessary daily services of DeKalb CSB to ensure those uninsured and underinsured do not go without life-saving resources. The Brighter DeKalb Foundation helps both youth and adults reclaim their lives by supporting a full continuum of behavioral health and developmental disability services. Services are provided to more than 10,000 citizens annually by the DeKalb CSB located in DeKalb County, Georgia.

 

The 9th Annual Walk of HEROes will take place on September 19, 2015 in the Downtown Decatur Square. Walk of HEROes will celebrate the real life superhero’s battling developmental disabilities and behavioral health illnesses by “Helping to Enable Recovery and Opportunity.” Over 400 attendees are expected to attend the a 5K run/walk, Tot Trot Run and enjoy the community vendors, face painting, awards, door prizes, refreshments, superhero costume contest, etc.

 

All proceeds will benefit the Brighter DeKalb Foundation which provides support for behavioral health and developmental disability services provided by the DeKalb CSB .
