October 12, 2022, Decatur, GA – DeKalb Community Service Board (DeKalb CSB) received a three-year accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). This Accreditation exhibits our commitment to providing quality service to our surrounding community and the individuals we
serve. The report reaffirmed the “substantial conformance,” of quality standards laid out by CARF.

The report commends DeKalb CSB on the amount of praise it receives from clients and staff alike. “Teamwork, camaraderie, collaboration, work-life balance, and a family-oriented attitude are hallmarks of the organization’s success… and clients are treated with respect, and they have choices to do things. It is not boring for them.” CARF Accreditation Surveyors

We are excited to be awarded the highest level of accreditation from CARF. Surveyors examined both administrative and clinical operations along with training documentation, performance appraisal procedures, and testing procedures for disaster recovery.

The accreditation will extend through June 30, 2025, and applies to our Psychosocial Rehabilitation, Substance Use Disorders, Community Employment, Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities, and Community Housing programs. A team of four surveyors tested our services against a total of 2,132 standards, the organization
received only 7 recommendations and will continue to make changes to adequately meet the updates required.

“The results of this accreditation survey are a true testament to the great work being done by the DeKalb CSB team. The results of the survey speak to the consistency and quality of services delivered to the individuals within the communities that we serve, the efficiency of our business operations, and the commitment of our leadership and our Board of Directors. It was really a pleasure to be a part of this process and I am grateful to be a part of this organization.” Chatele’ Chester, Chief Quality Officer
