Nursing staff provide a variety of services depending on the need of the client. Nursing assessments may include blood pressure and weight checks, determining body mass index (BMI), drawing blood and obtaining urine specimens. Nurses manage laboratory results for certain medication levels, blood counts and drug screens. Nurses also provide administration of injectable medications, provide PPD (tuberculin) placement and readings, and field calls related to possible medication side effects or medication related issues. With a focus on whole-person wellness, our nurses also provide health education in group settings and during individual nursing assessments. Free, confidential HIV education and testing are also available to the clients we serve.
